About Us Das Zuehl Haus officially opened its doors to guests in June, 2005 and is located in the town of Blanco, on a fifteen acre farm owned and operated by the Herden Family since 1990. As you step through the doors of Das Zuehl Haus, you are immediately taken back to a time when life went at a slower, more gentle pace. The house, barn, cisterns and old car shed were constructed by the Alvin Koch family in 1917. Many long-time residents of Blanco helped in working the farm and relaxing under the shade of the hundred year old oak trees that surround the house and farm. The original barn still stands and is put to use during hay season. The farm is also located directly behind one of Blanco''s oldest churches, St. Ferdinand's Catholic Church. The historic town square of Blanco, is just a short stroll away from the doors of Das Zuehl Haus. Guests can walk the court house square for shopping opportunities. You may choose to take a relaxing stroll along "Roland & Viola Bindseil Nature Trail". Which leads down from the square to the Blanco River and the Blanco State Park area. If you choose, bicycles are provided so that guests can ride to area attractions. At Das Zuehl Haus guests will have access to a full house. There are two separate bedrooms, each with a queen size bed and Egyptian linens. Bathroom is complete with pedestal sink, claw-foot cast iron tub with shower. And contains the original beaded wood walls. The fully equipped kitchen has all necessities and oven. The living room has cable TV with DVD and there is a huge front porch for just relaxing in the shade. After a long day of site-seeing, guests will find a full hot tub for their relaxing enjoyment . A private changing room is under the old water cistern next to the hot tub. Privacy is ensured for our guests and a continental breakfast is delivered daily.
